Meine Meinung:

Vielen Dank an die Autorin, die mir ein Buch zu Verfügung gestellt hat.

Wer meine Rezension von dem ersten Teil gelesen hat weiß, dass die Autorin sehr international ist. Sie kommt ursprünglich aus Polen, aufgewachsen ist sie in Kanada und hat auch in Italien gelebt und nun eben in Deutschland.

Auch in diesem 2. Teil geht es um das Leben der Autorin in Deutschland. Die Familie hat aber Zuwachs bekommen. Max kam zur Welt. Von ihm liest man sehr viel und man kann seine Entwicklung bis zum Ende des Buches mitverfolgen.

Da ich den ersten Teil auch gelesen habe, habe ich mich mit diesem Buch leichtgetan. Ich würde daher zuerst den ersten Teil lesen, da man das ganze leichter versteht. Das Buch fängt zwar bei der Geburt an, aber das Grundwissen um die Protagonistin würde meiner Meinung nach da wegfallen.

Den Schreibstil fand ich auch hier wieder angenehm und ziemlich witzig. Wobei ich anbringen muss, dass man ihn entweder nicht mag oder total liebt. Sie schreibt sehr offen und wie es ihr passt. Das gefällt mir.

Ich fand sie auch hier interessant, wie sie die deutsche Kultur beschreibt und immer versucht Parallelen zu dem von ihr erlebten zu finden. Sehr deutlich kann man das ziemlich zum Schluss bei der Erklärung des deutschen Schulsystems erkennen. Sie schreibt, was sie sich gerade denkt. Da kann ich leider auch nicht mitreden, da wir in Österreich auch ein anderes System haben.

Auch hier muss ich wieder erwähnen, dass mir kein Genre einfällt, in welches ich dieses Buch hinein platzieren könnte. Das ist jetzt nicht negativ gemeint. Ich würde es auch wieder Menschen zum Lesen geben, die nach Deutschland wollen und sehen wollen, wie sich eine Frau mit verschiedenen Wurzeln nach Deutschland begibt und sich dort integriert und Deutschland als neues Zuhause bezeichnet.

Everyone, who read my review of the first book should know, that the author is very international. She was born in Poland, grew up in Canada, lived in Italy and now she lives in Germany.

In this book the protagonist is also the author. The topic is: Living in Germany. The family grew. She got a child. Max was born. You can read a lot about him and you can follow his development.

I also read the first book and the second book was easy for me. So I would say, that you should read the first book first and then go on with this one, because you can better understand the background when starting with the first book.

The writing style is funny and pleasant again. But I have to say, that there are two options. Either you like it or not.  She writes what she thinks and this is what I like.

It was interesting how she describes the German culture and tries to find parallels between the Germans and her experiences. You can notice this, when she explains the German schoolsystem. So she writes what she thinks. Ok I can’t talk about this, because here in Austria we have a different system.

I also have to say, that I don’t know any genre, where I can put this book in. I don’t say, that this is a negative point. I would recommend it to people, who want to come to Germany and want to see how a woman with different roots comes to Germany and how she integrates herself and finds in Germany new home.

Fazit:

Nur damit ihr wisst: Ich habe die Abschnitte „Gestaltung“ und „Charakter“ weggelassen, denn ich bin der Meinung, dass man bei Geschichten wie diese oder Biografien nicht die Person oder das Cover, welches eigentlich immer die handelnde Person zeigt, beurteilen darf. Nur so viel wieder dazu.

Dieses Buch in englischer Sprache ist ein lockeres Buch, welches man so zwischen durch lesen kann. Diesen Schreibstil ist aber weiterhin Geschmacksache.

Mir hat dieses Buch wirklich überzeugt und deswegen gebe ich heute 4 Herzen.

Notes: In this review I don’t use the sections “Gestaltung” and “Charakter”, because I think you cannot judge about these points with these stories. So I would never judge biographies or stories like that. The covers look not that much different as biographies. They just show the person, who wrote it. I hope you can understand it.

This book is written in English. It is really chill written and you can relax when you read it. You can love the writing style, but you don’t have to. It is matter of taste.

Anyway it convinces me and I give 4 hearts.
